HOW UNGRATEFUL COULD I BE

I suppose you are thinking today will be about eating - NOT!!

Last night, as I was reading the Psalms and trying to sleep, this verse popped out at me. Then today it was there again in my Bible study. "For I am the Lord your God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. (Psalm 81:10 ESV)"

God was talking to the Israelites...They were grumbling that they didn't have food in the wilderness. They were actually telling Moses that they were better off in slavery, under the thumb of Pharoah and their harsh taskmasters! God gave them manna that they weren't satisfied with...They wanted meat...so He gave them quail.  But He was trying to get them to realize that HE was their provider.   It was by His hand they were filled! I thought, "HOW UNGRATEFUL COULD THEY BE!?!"

But then I started thinking about how many times I have run to my credit card when I couldn't pay a bill or even asked God to give me a credit card or loan to get me out of a jam. The thing is, God and I have been working HARD to pay off those credit cards! "HOW UNGRATEFUL COULD I BE!?!" Or maybe how I, with God's help, have worked so HARD to get 80 pounds off this body and then I get this craving for the old stuff - like a chocolate candy bar! "HOW UNGRATEFUL COULD I BE!" God has always provided the things that I need when I need them - just like the manna from Heaven - but I have still cried and asked "WHY!?!"..."HOW ARE WE GONNA MAKE IT WITHOUT...!?!" - - "HOW UNGRATEFUL COULD I BE!?!"

God physically provides our manna, but He is the BREAD OF LIFE...I believe He is also talking about wisdom from Him. "Open wide your mouth and I will fill it!" I see this verse next to Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

If we will search for HIS will and to further HIS kingdom, I believe He will show us what to do and give us what we need for EVERY situation."
