The Very First Christmas

“The Very First Christmas” was sent to me by Zonderkidz, a division of Zondervan Publishing.  It was free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.

“The Very First Christmas” is a Berenstain Bears book, written and illustrated by Jan and Mike Berenstain…the son and wife of Stan Berenstain, who did the original Berenstain Bears.  I love how I can carry on a series of books read to me and that I read to my children to now read to my grandchildren.

In “The Very First Christmas” the Berenstains explain the story of Jesus’ birth in a fun way, easy for a child to understand.  Of course, all of the characters are bears, as in all of their books.

I also like how, at the end of each of their books, they have a couple questions to think and talk about.  He also has a couple of activities that have to do with the particular book you’re reading.  In this one he suggests making a diorama of the first Christmas and making cards to give to neighbors and friends.

I’ve always liked the Berenstain Bears and would recommend this book to children and those reading to them.
