“The Legend
of St. Nicholas – A Story of Christmas Giving” was sent to me by Zonderkidz, a
division of Zondervan Publishing. It was
free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.
“The Legend of St. Nicholas” is a Christian
children’s picture book written by Dandi Daley Mackall. Once again, Richard Cowdrey drew the magnificent
illustrations…I love his drawing!!
In this book, Little Nick was going to the store
to buy Christmas gifts for his brothers.
Instead he sees a baseball glove that he really wanted. He picked it up, but happened to hear the
store Santa telling the story of Saint Nicholas and how he gave to those less
fortunate than himself. After Santa’s
story Nick was inspired and not only bought his brothers’ gifts, but spent his
extra money to purchase gifts for the poor.
I really like how Ms. Mackall ends her stories
with a child doing something good for others.
I would recommend this story to children and those reading to children.
