“The Berenstain
Bears and the Christmas Angel” was sent to me by Zonderkidz - a division of
Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest and not
coerced review.
“Christmas
Angel” was written and illustrated by Mike Berenstain, the son of the original
writers, Stan and Jan Berenstain. I
still think it is SO awesome that my grandchildren can now hear and read the
series that I read as a little girl, and that I read to my little boys! Thank
you, Mike, for carrying on the tradition.
In this
story, the bear cubs built a snow angel (a traditional snowman, just wouldn’t
do) They added a flowy robe, wings, a halo, and a harp. It was really good! Well, as they were
drinking the hot cocoa Momma had made them, and admiring their work, Papa told
them about Gabriel – the Christmas angel that announced the Savior’s
birth. On the last page, there are also
references of other angels found in the Bible...like, Michael.
I definitely
recommend this book…and all of the Berenstain books…to young readers, and those
who read to them.
