Sorry it's been so long friends...I've been REALLY sick...even spending a week in the hospital with pneumonia and pleurisy. I am on the mend now though and here is your next book review.
“Miles from Nowhere” was sent to me by Zondervan Publishing,
free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.
“Miles from Nowhere” is a Christian fiction novel written by
Amy Clipston. She is the best-selling
author of the “Kaufman Amish Bakery Series” and many other Christian
novels. I have a feeling this will be no
exception! I always enjoy reading Amy’s sweet romances.
In this novel we see a romance between Todd Hughes and
Chelsea Morris – high school sweethearts.
They are head over heels until…Chelsea begins to feel unimportant when
Todd has to work all summer at his parent’s restaurant. Chelsea is chosen as head costume designer in
a community production of “Grease”. She
becomes enamored with the “resident bad boy”, and male lead of the musical,
Dylan, who convinces her to “make her final summer before college memorable”. She is pulled in by the sudden attention and
begins to REALLY act out…sneaking out at night to go to “cast parties”, and
even drinking. God is not going to let
go of her, though she must face the consequences to her actions. Chelsea’s life is crashing around her and her
guilt is tearing her up inside, but she continues her bad choices…until one
night she gets into the car with a drunk and angry Dylan. She finds out who her true friends are…But,
is she too far gone? Does she choose Dylan anyway? Or, does she humble herself,
apologize, and choose Todd? Or…does she even recover after the drunk driving
accident? You’ll have to read this excellent
book to find out! :-D
I highly recommend this book!!
