“The Home That
Built Me” was sent to me by Karen Mueller Bryson free of charge in exchange for
my honest review of it.
“The Home That
Built Me” is book one in the “Coming Home Trilogy”, written by Elaine
Barnett. It is a Christian romance about
a young girl who ran away from home, got married to a cheating abusive husband,
and decided to return home too late…after her parents had already died.
Genna
returned home to the news that her parents had been killed in a plane accident. She had inherited an awesome estate, complete
with servants, cars…even a stocked refrigerator and pantry. She reconnected with her high school
sweetheart, Mark and her best friend, Connie.
Genna, Mark, Connie, and Genna’s new friend Maxx end up spending
Christmas holidays together. We get to
watch a budding romance between Mark and Genna and between Maxx and Connie.
Genna finally forgives herself for leaving and her ex for the way he treated
her…Then she could give her heart to Mark.
This was a
very heartwarming story and I would definitely recommend it.
